Ease of Use

Information and resource type are quickly found in drop down menus from the upper ribbon, but multiple clicks may be needed to find them. Articles related to a specific topic are listed by date and can be difficult to sift through. The search bar is more useful and sorts articles by relevance. The text may be too small for some to read.

Visual Design

The content of each page is crowed to the center, making things look cluttered. Advertising tiles and offers to sign up for publication add to the clutter of each page.

Medical review prior to publication confers some reliability to the articles, but users could be more assured if there was better referencing. The magazine format imposes some limitations on the content since it does not allow for comprehensive coverage of diabetes.

Diabetes Self-Management has trustworthy content written by cited professional writers and reviewed by medical authorities. New articles are produced with each issue and posted articles are sometimes updated. Unfortunately some articles that are not updated contain information that may be more than 5-10 years old.
