Ease of Use

Hormone Health Network's user-focused design enables a quick browsing experience using the site's main category tabs at the top of the page. The search bar doesn't allow visitors to filter results, but otherwise there are few usability problems to note. Readers can trust this website to provide hormone health information in a direct, accessible manner.

Visual Design

The website features a straightforward visual design that is easy on the eyes and even easier to use. Good incorporation of visual aids to simplify the sometimes complex material, and pages that rely on white space and large font.

All site materials are based on the clinical and scientific expertise of the Endocrine Society. Educational pages take time to dispel myths and offer multiple perspectives on less clear-cut topics like adrenal fatigue. Although providing only a basic overview, the materials are high-quality and patient-centered. However, the topics would be enhanced by the inclusion of references to support the evidence-based nature of the content.

Most topics have the names of the numerous medical editors with impeccable credentials that contribute to each of the site's materials. Most of the content is current, having been created or reviewed in the last 2 years. However, a few were only updated between 2015-2017. Despite the occasional omission this site has a highly credible collection of information supported by an authoritative professional organization.

  1. Easy-to-use website with convenient drop-drown menus and a robust search bar
  2. Interactive map of the human body shows where hormones are secreted and what role they play
  3. Fact sheets and extensive outside links put users in touch with more in-depth content
  4. Visitors can filter materials by choosing a specific body area, type of disorder, and patient age/gender
  5. Articles are edited by multiple endocrine specialists

  1. The evidence-based nature of the content could be documented
  2. Search bar has no filtering options, so results can be overwhelmingly broad depending on the keyword
