Ease of Use

Clear category tabs guide users toward relevant materials. The "Education & Support" tab contains general health information, educational resources, and support options. Many pages feature an overwhelming amount of text to read through and can be chaotic, even though there's heavy use of collapsible menus to save space. Breadcrumbs at the top of the page help users know where they are in relation to other content at all times. Unfortunately the site's search bar does not allow for filtered results.

Visual Design

Visually appealing homepage featuring welcoming colors and sharp graphics. The contrasting colors help users pick out the most relevant areas of the site. Outside of the homepage, most pages are plain in comparison. But overall the visual design is professional and inoffensive.

This website is a great source of general and specific information for people with pulmonary fibrosis. Each topic is covered in exhaustive depth, giving readers detailed looks into the most common questions associated with pulmonary fibrosis. However, few pages feature scholarly references to allow readers to see the research used. And when references are used, they are not very recent.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation does not include author names or posting dates on any of its content. The references used could be more current. Downloadable patient education materials do include a copyright date, though the most recent found is 2016.
